Where to begin with the fantastic story behind this artist/singer-songwriter?
Since his participation in the VTM-programma X-Factor, his career has been a series of successes, both live and in the media world, both domestically and internationally. This success has led Abdou to perform twice at the Sportpaleis, including once as the opening act for none other than Beyoncé (a feat no other Belgian has achieved until now…).
In 2019, Abdou embarked on a new musical journey, releasing his first Dutch-language pop singles. This, too, immediately proved to be a great success! His first single, ‘Laatste Dans’ (Last Dance), enjoyed weeks of airplay/screenplay on stations such as Radio 2 and MENT TV, ultimately reaching fourth place in the ULTRATOP 30, where it remained for 22 weeks!
Following the success of his next singles, ‘Hart Van Goud’, ‘Je Like It’, ‘Weer Opnieuw’, ‘Levenslang’, and ‘Zomaar’, Abdou was awarded a gold record for achieving 1 million streams on Spotify. He personally received this award from Vanessa Vanhove op Radio 2.
And he’s far from finished. In October 2024, a new single will be released, which will pave the way for his upcoming album, set to launch in the spring of 2025.
